MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- 71 speedskaters hope to have their Olympic-sized dreams realized this week.
The Pettit National Ice Center is once again playing host to the U.S. Olympic Long Track Speedskating Trials.
They were last here twenty years ago. In the end, sixteen skaters, both men and women, will be chosen to represent our nation in the Winter Games next month in South Korea. This event runs in conjunction with the Pettit's 25th anniversary. Organizers say this is the perfect time for this particular gathering.
The public is welcome to see the speedskating trials. However, some of the days, including Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday are already sold out. Click here to read more about the event or to buy tickets.
