Spectrum to host hiring event for Field Technicians in Racine County

ROCHSTER, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Spectrum plans to hold a hiring event for field technicians, aiming to expand its workforce in Rochester.

The event is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 7, at three locations from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Interested applicants have the option to walk in or make an appointment during these hours.

The hiring event will take place at the following locations:

  • 10130 W. Appleton Ave., Milwaukee, WI, 53255
  • 5475 W. Abbot Ave., Greenfield, WI, 53220
  • N27W23750 Paul Road, Pewaukee, WI, 53072

Applicants will have the opportunity to apply for an entry-level role, which involves customer-facing interactions including basic installations and repairs. Educational qualifications include a high school diploma or GED.

Spectrum touts a new education benefit for employees by which they can earn tuition-free degrees in over 300 online programs through their new Charter Education Benefit powered by Guild.

They also tout a retirement plan that includes a 401(k) with the first 6% of employee contributions being matched, plus a Retirement Accumulation Plan that adds an additional 3% company contribution, for a potential total of 9% contributions.

The company also specifies that technical skills are a plus but not required.

Spectrum's press release about the hiring event states that new employees will receive proper training for the role, including learning technical and engineering skills on the job. Technical acumen and customer-facing experience are considered beneficial but are not mandatory qualifications.

Valid driver's licenses are also required for the position.
