MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Specific learning disabilities are among the most common reasons students in Wisconsin receive special education services, with more than 126,000 students statewide on individualized education programs during the 2024-2025 school year, according to the state Department of Public Instruction.

Judy Cohen of Lakeside Educational Services joined us on Monday, March 30 to talk about how learning disabilities are identified, the evaluation and referral process, required timelines for school districts and what parents should know about their child's rights under special education law.
