2 Milwaukee officers shot near 25th and Garfield

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police reported to a shooting near 25th and Garfield earlier tonight, June 26. Two officers were shot and injured.  

Both officers have over six years of experience on the job. One officer a 29-year-old is the hospital with non-fatal injuries. The other a 32-year-old is still in critical condition. 

The Milwaukee Police Association (MPA) sent out this statement about the shooting. 


DOT cameras captured police cars following ambulances heading towards the hospital. CBS 58 reporters on the ground witnessed them arrive at Froedtert Emergency Center. 

A source close to MPA says that the suspect has been arrested. 

MPA President Alexander Ayala spoke to CBS 58 and said that the officers are alive.

"I literally talked to one of the officers at the hospital before I came here and he's in good spirits," said Ayala.
