Sobelman's at Marquette Reopens with Temporary Food License
Sobelman's on Marquette University's campus has reopened after the owner met with Alderman Bob Bauman.
According to Alderman Bauman's office, a temporary food license has been approved.
The Milwaukee Common Council needs to approve the liquor license and food license on September 20.
"As a thank you, we'll donate $1 for every burger sold until September 20 to charitable organizations benefiting our community," tweeted the restaurant.
We sincerely appreciate Alderman Robert Bauman's office reaching out to us this morning. We hope to have good news for you soon!

Sobelman’s closed the kitchen at 8 PM Tuesday after the licensing committee revoked their license earlier in the day. Owner Dave Sobelman says he didn’t know he was supposed to attend the July hearing.
Sobelman says he did attend Tuesday’s hearing and tried to work with the committee. He says he thinks the real reason he was ordered to close for two weeks is his past clashes with Alderman Robert Bauman over other city issues.
