Snow Emergencies Declared; Winter Parking Regulations

MILWAUKEE

If 4" of snow falls, the 4" rule will be put into effect. Certain residential streets are posted "No Parking When Snow Falls 4 Inches or More." Parking is allowed on both sides of the street, except when snow has accumulated on the street surface to the depth of 4 inches or more. Then no parking is allowed on the side of the street where the sign is posted until the snow has been removed--day or night or at any time of the year. WEST ALLIS

The city of West Allis canceled their snow emergency at 1:00 PM Saturday.

FORT ATKINSON

City of Fort Atkinson has declared a snow emergency effective 12:01 AM November 21. It will remain in effect until 10:00 AM November 21.

PLEASANT PRAIRIE

A Snow Emergency has been declared in the Village of Pleasant Prairie beginning at 9:00 PM on Friday, November 20 and remaining in effect until 11:30 PM on Saturday, November 21. During a Snow Emergency, no parking is allowed on Village streets. All Snow Emergency parking restrictions will be enforced throughout this time period.

WATERTOWN

The Watertown Police Department has declared a snow emergency that will go into effect at 11:00 PM Friday night and last for 48 hours until 11:00 PM Sunday.Parking on all city streets and alleys will be banned between 11:00 PM and 7:00 AM during the 48-hour period. Residents who do not have off-street parking are encouraged to use municipal lots to avoid a $50 citation. Vehicles will be towed after staying in the same location for 24 hours.

RACINE

Starting December 1, alternate side parking regulations are in effect from until April 1, except Thanksgiving Day, December 25 and January 1. 

Vehicles must park on the even-numbered address side of the street between 2:00 AM and 6:00 AM of an even-numbered calendar day; and on the odd-numbered side of the street between 2:00 AM and 6:00 AM of an odd-numbered day. 

Vehicles violating these restrictions are subject to ticketing and a $20 fine. 

During declared Snow Emergencies: 1) no parking is allowed on arterial and collector streets while the Snow Emergency is in effect, violators will be towed; 2) on local streets, odd/even side parking restrictions (based on the following day's date) start when a Snow Emergency is declared, and remain in effect until 6:00 AM.

KENOSHA

A snow emergency has been declared since more than 4" of snow has fallen. Parking is prohibited on all city streets from 2:00 PM Saturday to 6:00 AM on Sunday.
