Snow and cold on tap for the weekend

Low pressure developing over the Pacific Ocean will make its way into the Plains and Midwest late this week. By Friday and Friday night, snow will spread across Wisconsin, and this trend could continue into Saturday as well. The system is showing the heaviest axis of snowfall to drop from the border of WI/IL and south. However, lake effect snow could be a major player later in the day on Saturday and Saturday night.

Given the fact we are still a few days out from this storm, changes will be made on the track, snowfall totals, and exact timing. Nevertheless, southeastern Wisconsin will likely see its first major winter system hitting of the young 2019 year. Along with the snow moving in, the coldest air since last February will track in. Highs will nose-dive into the teens by Sunday and Monday; overnight lows could plunge easily near zero with wind chills well below zero. This is a system worth keeping a very close eye on and we have you covered here at CBS58.
