Froedtert Hospital is getting ready to unveil a big renovation. The hospital will soon open its Integrated Procedural Platform (IPP) for surgeries and other procedures. CBS 58's Julie Parise got a sneak peek.
The IPP is a brand new operating room at the only level one trauma hospital in southeast Wisconsin. They call it a a procedural suite and it's the the first major upgrade to the operating rooms since 1980.
Doctors tell us more than $100 million has been invested into the project.
The project is the first phase of integrating surgical, interventional and intensive care areas on a single, centrally located floor.
One doctor here tells us the new equipment and added space is a dream come true, "This is obviously a state of the art imaging and operating room that provides us the ability to provide cutting air tech. We're able to provide some of the newest procedures that are available," said Dr. Gary Seabrook the Senior Medical Director of Surgical Services for Medical College and Froedtert Hospital.
The new operating rooms will be fully functional starting June 5.
