"Rest in peace my best friend, teacher and dad. I love you dad."
Thousands watched in person and live on youtube as a little girl said goodbye to her father who was killed in the line of duty.
Police Detective Jason Weiland was killed while trying to apprehend a suspect on a shooting spree in the Wausau area last week.
Investigators say the gunman went on a rampage, distraught over his divorce.
In addition to killing Detective Weiland, he's also accused of killing his wife's divorce attorney and two female co-workers.
Police officers from across the country turned out to pay their respects.
One of the mourners told the crowd that "God, we're not okay with this. There is no way that this is right. We refuse to accept the notion that this is your will."
