Six people shot and injured during violent night in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE-- Milwaukee police are investigating after three separate overnight shootings that left six people injured.


The first shooting happened shortly before 11:00 p.m. Friday near 23rd and Center. A 27-year-old man was shot and wounded during an ongoing neighborhood dispute. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment. There are currently no suspects in custody.


Around 11:45 p.m. officers on patrol heard gun shots near 28th and Chambers. The officers found two victims running from the scene and located two other victims in the parking lot of a nearby business.A 19-year-old male and three 17-year-old females were taken to a local hospital for treatment of their non-life threatening injuries. Police were able to identify a possible suspect who was arrested at a nearby residence. Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.


A 39-year-old West Allis woman was shot around 1:10 a.m. during an armed robbery that happened near 40th and Fond du Lac. A friend took her to a local hospital for treatment. Her injury is believed to be non-life threatening. There are currently no suspects in custody.
