Shot Fires After 1st-Grader Brings Gun Into St. Paul Classroom

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – School officials in St. Paul say a first-grader brought a gun to class Thursday morning and the weapon discharged into the floor.

St. Paul Public Schools says that no one was injured when the gun went off inside Crossroads Elementary School and that no threats were directed at students or staff.

The gun was immediately confiscated following the incident and police are investigating.

The district says that there will be “serious consequences.”
