Shorewood police respond to concerns of residents after string of robberies and carjackings

The Shorewood Police Department is responding to residents' concerns after a string of robberies and carjackings in the village.

Two bank robbery suspects led police on a chase that eventually crossed into Whitefish Bay and ended in a crash. The suspects tried to run away but were caught.

Schools in Shorewood and Whitefish Bay were placed on lockdown until the two were captured.

A concerned resident asked Shorewood Police what they're doing to prevent crime in the village. Police responded saying \"The department has made 11 arrests in vehicle entries and stolen vehicles. All of these arrests involve juveniles, some as young as 12-years-old.\"

Police are calling on residents to help, saying lock your cars and remove any valuables including spare keys.

Shorewood police warn, \"Until these young criminals leave empty handed, they, and others will keep returning.\"
