Shorewood Police Release Information on Tuesday Night's Large Police Presence near Metro Market

Shorewood Police Department released information on a robbery at the Metro Market on Tuesday that caused a large police presence.

According to police, this stemmed from a simple retail theft.

A suspect stole items and ran out of the store. While being chased by loss prevention, the suspect stated that he was armed.

The suspect was last seen running through back yards and because he stated that he was armed, loss prevention officers discontinued chasing him.

According to police’s release, because there was a possibility of an armed man running through neighborhoods, officers made a perimeter block where the suspect was last seen and with the assistance of a K9 from a neighboring agency, searched the neighborhood. The suspect was not located.
