Shooting Occurs at Madison Gas Station; Car Ended Up Crashing into Hotel
A shooting at a gas station in Madison ended with a car striking a Comfort Inn and Suites Hotel where the driver was pronounced dead.
According to Madison Police, two men were seated in a car at the Mobil gas station, 3019 E. Washington Ave., when a gunman approached on foot.
The shooter fired multiple rounds into the vehicle.
According to police, several bullets struck the driver.
The wounded man accelerated out of the lot at a high rate of speed and crashed into Comfort Inn & Suites.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The passenger suffered non life-threatening injuries in the crash.
He was not shot, and was taken to a hospital.
Madison Police Department’s Violent Crime Unit is leading the investigation.
