Shooting Near Milwaukee Elementary School

Milwaukee Police are investigating a shooting in the 3200 block of North 8th Street near Robert LaFollette Elementary School. A parent of a student at the school has told CBS 58 the school was not put on lockdown. 

Tony Tagliavia of Milwaukee Public Schools says the incident was not connected to the school and did not post a danger to the school so no lockdown was issued. 

According to police, a 21-year old Milwaukee man sustained a non-life threatening injury during circumstances that are still under investigation. The man ran into a nearby convenience store telling people he had been shot in the head.  

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. MPD continues to seek suspects and the investigation in ongoing.
