WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A local boy is still trying to process what he saw Saturday morning while out with friends.

"Shock, fear," Wes Jorgensen said.

The 13-year-old spoke with CBS 58 about what happened when he saw a skeleton while walking along the creek near 74th and Oklahoma.

"We go up to it thinking it is just some old Halloween thing and we look at it and it starts looking really real," he said.

Jorgensen said that's when they realized something was wrong.

"It had shoes where its feet were and there were bones, you could see bones inside," he said. "It was so decomposed, there was no way that could have just been something recent."

The teens went into a nearby bank and asked workers to call police. Authorities came and blocked off the area.

"It's scary to think that people have been going through there all the time," he said. "That I've walked past that without ever even knowing that there was a body of a person just sitting there."

Jorgensen said he's still trying to understand and cope with what happened.

"To be honest I don't even know how I feel about it still," he said. "It's not something you expect."

West Allis Police say they are unable to determine the age or gender of the deceased individual and it appears the body may have been there for an extended period of time.

An investigation is ongoing.
