SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Sheboygan County District Attorney, Joel Urmanski, is appealing a recent abortion ruling.
A Dane County judge ruled that the state's 1849 abortion ban does not apply to consensual abortions. With that, several Planned Parenthoods resumed abortion services in Madison, Milwaukee, and soon, Sheboygan.
Urmanski is now asking the Wisconsin Supreme Court to handle the case.
In a statement, Urmanski said "A decision by a single Dane County Circuit Court Judge does not provide the resolution that this issue requires. Without a decision from a higher court, the current decision only specifically addresses three counties."
