CBS 58 RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Several people were rescued from a house fire in Racine early Tuesday, Feb. 3. Authorities were called to the scene near Buchanan and Hamilton Streets just before 6 a.m.
According to the Racine Fire Department, upon arrival, crews found two victims on a second-story porch overhang and additional victims waving for help from a side window. Officials used a ladder to rescue the for individuals.
Another victim was located unconscious inside the home; she was rescued and transported by Flight for Life for treatment.
The fire was under control in approximately 30 minutes, the fire department says.
Unfortunately, two family pets were found deceased inside the home.
In all, 10 residents are displaced from the three-family residence as the structure has been deemed inhabitable.
No foul play is suspected.
The American Red Cross assisted with the displaced residents. Ryde Racine provided a city bus to keep displaced residents warm during the incident.
