MILWAUKEE (CBS 58)-- Finding unity through some sweet desserts is the concept behind "PEACE through PIE."
It's the first time this national grassroots movement has found its way to Milwaukee just in time for MLK Day.
Various schools and non-profits are hosting pie bake sales as a way of opening peaceful dialogue among different ethnicities. Mr. Dye's Pies on the northwest side heard about the initiative and knew they had to get involved.
The pie sale will happen Monday, January 21 from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church in Greenfield. Proceeds benefit Sojourner Family Peace Center.
