Senator Frank Lasee unveils prevailing wage plan

Senator Frank Lasee  unveiled his plan to repeal prevailing wage.
According to Lasee, this plan will reduce costs to locals, simplify the process for businesses, and systemically alter current law saving taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars while paving the way for full repeal.
“With the budget at a standstill and the absence of a meaningful plan on prevailing wage, I worked with my colleagues and other supporters of full repeal to arrive at significant reform that can pass both houses,” said Senator Frank Lasee.
The Lasee Plan includes:
1) Repeal for all local governments, technical colleges, schools, and municipal utilities
2) Uses federal rates on state projects
3) Removes the Department of Workforce Development (DWD) from administering the state prevailing wage – eliminating 4 positions, a $358,000 savings
