MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Tammy Baldwin was sworn in Friday for her third term as a United States senator for Wisconsin.
The Democrat narrowly beat her challenger, Republican Eric Hovde in November.
Hovde conceded a week after the race was called.
Baldwin says she'll continue to reach across the aisle and work with Republican lawmakers for Wisconsin but raised concerns about President-elect Donald Trump's cabinet nominees.
"I will give everyone a fair shake and give them due consideration, but I will not compromise if somebody might hurt Wisconsin families, veterans, business," Sen. Baldwin said. "I will tell you there are some controversial picks among the group."
Baldwin also spoke about a number of topics at her swearing in ceremony, including affordable child care, housing, and lowering prescription drugs costs.
