3-alarm fire damages vacant Milwaukee warehouse
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Senator Tammy Baldwin was in Milwaukee Friday, April 1, to tour a new mental health emergency center.
The senator worked to secure the $2.5 million in federal funding for the new building.
She was joined by County Executive David Crowley, and they spoke with health system leaders to learn how the center will expand mental health treatment in Milwaukee.
County Executive Crowley has been vocal in his support of the senator, saying she has been crucial at garnering support and resources for the center.
"Well, we're whole human beings," said Sen. Baldwin. "We have bodies, we have minds, we have to think about health care in a comprehensive, holistic way and we've struggled for years with lack of parity."
The senator says it's important to have specialized facilities like this one because it can provide people a better way to get the treatment they need.
