MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A séance kicked off Halloween weekend in Walkers Point at Shaker's Cigar Bar on Friday, Oct. 27.

The séance included a host of things for participants to explore like Ouija boards, automatic writing and pendulums, doing it at Shaker's, in the company of resident Milwaukee spirits. Many question, is all of it real, or not?

This Halloween weekend, many are on the hunt for a bit of the supernatural.

Katie Prier's been in business on Brady Street for some 15 years, seeing a lot in that time, psychics who have a gift, and others who are just plain fake.

"If they are egging you on for more money, you know after the initial reading. If you are being asked too many questions, if they're looking for validation to their guesses," said Katie Prier, Milwaukee psychic.

It's not a reading, but rather ghost tours that keep people coming back to Shaker's.

Scott Star is leaving Shaker's as a believer.

"Ah, super creepy," said Star.

Star said he has also had psychic readings before but did his homework before booking an appointment because this wasn't for entertainment purposes, he had questions.

"Just like any, like a doctor, you see a bunch of people and you find one that works for you. So, the person I've seen has things that she's told me come true and I keep a journal," said Star.

Shaker's is owned by Bob Weiss.

"And you get all sorts of remarkable experiences there (on the third floor)," said Weiss.

Weiss says Shaker's has resident spirits, and a few visitors in the cellar where Al Capone and his gang left things behind, such as a safe that no one has ever been able to open. The stairs nearby truly lead to nowhere.

"It is an ability that some people have to evoke a spiritual or a second connection with someone else or something else," said Weiss.
