Sarah Barwacz

Sarah Barwacz is CBS 58's Investigative Reporter and is happy to be back close to home. She was raised forty-five minutes south of Milwaukee and is no stranger to Kohler-Andrae State Park, Kopp's Custard, and Summerfest.

Sarah believes journalism is the key to a free society and wants to help the community with her investigative reports. If you have a scam, know of fraud, government waste, or any other issue she will dig in and get results.

Sarah Barwacz is a five time award winning reporter. She was recognized with three ‘Best Reporter' awards including a Michigan Emmy for ‘Best Reporter.' She was also awarded with ‘Best Investigative Reporter,' and ‘Best Feature.'

Sarah came to Milwaukee from Grand Rapids, Michigan where she was able to get 11 new pieces of legislation introduced through her reports on sex trafficking. At WZZM-TV she was sent to cover national stories like Hurricane Sandy and the Arizona wildfires as a guest reporter for sister station KPNX-Phoenix.

Before Michigan she also spent several years in Peoria, Illinois where she helped to get a state law passed. She also worked an education beat in Iowa, interviewing presidential hopefuls.

Sarah is a graduate of Northern Illinois University. She credits her teachers and mentors along the way. As a Chicago native she is proud of her family's Polish heritage and their ability to survive the slave labor camps of WWII. She carries her family's hard work ethic to her job and the community.
