Santana homers in Brewers debut

Domingo Santana hit a two-run homer in his Brewers debut as Milwaukee beat Washington 10-3 Friday night at Nationals Park in Washington, DC.

Santana, one of the prospects acquired in the Carlos Gomez deal, took a Gio Gonzalez pitch over the left field wall in the fifth inning. The line drive bounced off a railing and back on to the field, but was immediately ruled a home run.

The game saw several oddities, including two runs scoring on a sacrifice fly thanks to a throwing error by Nationals right fielder Bryce Harper. Shane Peterson also reached base on catcher's interference, which brought in a run because the bases were loaded.

Kyle Lohse pitched the final three innings of the blowout win, picking up a save, the first of his professional career.
