Salvation Army Prepares to Serve Dinner to 8,000

Salvation Army's Christmas Dinner event is the largest Christmas Day dinner of its kind in the country.

 It is made possible with donations from places like Feeding America and Hunger Task Force.

There will be 2,000 pounds of ham will be served along with turkey, green beans, stuffing and plenty more.

Organizers said there are many in need in Milwaukee and they hope this event gives people a true sense of the holidays.

The Salvation Army's Christmas Family Feast is next Sunday, Christmas Day.

It will take place from 11 AM to 2:30 PM at the Wisconsin Center on Wisconsin Avenue.

It's free and open to the public.
