On Wednesday, she was honored in the name of Dr. Martin Luther King.

She was selected by the MLK celebration committee as the 2015 Teacher of the Year.

Gulbronson organizes an MLK essay contest.

She's has great success.

Two of her students won awards for their essays this year.

MPS and The Marcus Center wanted to recognized her for her long standing support and inspiring all her students to be winners in their own right.

\"I participated in the contest every year when I was a student at Riverside,\" explained Gulbronson. \"I just felt it necessary to keep that tradition going for my kids.\"

Every year a quote from Dr. King's \"I Have a Dream\" speech is selected as the theme for the contest.

Ms. Gulbronson encourages her students to find their own personal connection to his words.
