Registration Opens for Brewers Famous Racing Sausages 5K
The Brewers Community Foundation 19th Annual 5K Famous Racing Sausages Run/Walk will be held at Miller Park on Saturday, July 15, starting at 8:00 AM, rain or shine. Registration is now available online at brewers.com/5k.
Participants will get to test their skills against the Klement's Famous Racing Sausages, who also run the course. The 2017 Run/Walk once again affords participants the chance to follow the course onto the Miller Park warning track before concluding with a post-event tailgate party.
The cost for registration is $30 until May 5, and increases to $35 for those registering between May 6 and the end of registration. As part of the registration fee, participants in the Run/Walk receive a commemorative T-shirt, a Terrace Reserved ticket voucher, complimentary food and beverages at the tailgate party and more.
When registering to participate, fans are asked to set up a fundraising page or make a one-time contribution to support Fisher House Wisconsin. A contribution of $15 feeds a family for a day at the Fisher House. Those who donate $15 beyond their registration costs will be entered into a drawing to win a Hank Aaron autographed item. Incentive levels increase incrementally to the Grand Prize, an opportunity to throw out a first pitch at a Brewers home game. Brewers Community Foundation has contributed more than $250,000 over the past five years to benefit this worthy organization. Please note that the Run/Walk registration fee cannot be applied toward personal fundraising levels.
Fisher House provides a "home away from home" for military and veterans' families to be close to a loved one during hospitalization for an illness, disease or injury at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee. Veterans and their families living beyond 50 miles from the Milwaukee VA hospital are eligible to stay for free at the Fisher House if they need to overnight. The Fisher House program recognizes the special sacrifices of our men and women in uniform and ensures that they are provided with the comforts of home in a supportive environment.
