Red Cross sends 11 Wisconsin volunteers to Florida to help with aftermath of Dorian
(CBS 58) -- Volunteers from Wisconsin are headed down to Florida to help out with the aftermath of Dorian.
The American Red Cross sent 11 volunteers to the area before the storm makes landfall.
One of those volunteers is Owen "Skip" Gaffney. He's been a volunteer with the organization for the past three years.
He flew down to Jacksonville Thursday afternoon and says he's ready to help however he can.
"Be flexible. We can be flexible to do anything and we never know what to expect down there. I'm going down there thinking I might be sheltering, I could be doing other things. Death, disaster or assessment. I'm prepared to do whatever is asked of me," says Gaffney.
Gaffney will be deployed in Florida for two weeks. If you're interested in helping, you can make donations to the Red Cross online or donate blood.
