Record breaking heat Saturday, warm weather sticks around

Did you get outside Saturday? Hopefully you did because it was a record-breaking day. The high temperature in Milwaukee hit 56° which shatters the old record of 53° set back in 2007.

Temperatures were well above-average, but only lakeside spots made it into the 50s thanks to a breezy west wind. Inland locations were held in the middle to upper 40s.

Although we cool down a touch on Sunday, it's still over 10° above-average with highs around 40°. There is another chance for highs to reach 50° on Monday, but it comes with scattered rain for most of the day.

The warmth doesn't last forever. By Tuesday afternoon a cold front pushes through that drops temperatures back to reality with highs in the low 30s and lows in the 20s to end the week and into the weekend. Download the CBS 58 Ready Weather App to track the changing temps.
