MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Multiple jurisdictions in Milwaukee County were involved in a reckless driving, hit-and-run, chase and crash that happened Wednesday afternoon.
The call originated in Bayside during the early afternoon hours as a reckless driver near the intersection of Brown Deer Road and Port Washington. The car then was involved in a hit-and-run of a sign near the intersection of Arbon and Brown Deer Road in Brown Deer.
Glendale Police got the call of the driver and spotted the car on I-43 south where they attempted a traffic stop. The driver did not stop and fled south of I-43 eventually exiting on Locust where the car crashed into a traffic light.
The driver of the car fled out foot but was taken into custody after a brief pursuit.
The car caught fire where it crashed and Glendale Police say it is being investigated as an OWI.
