Rain is Coming....Strong Storms?

What a way to roll into September!  Unseasonably warm temperatures have been the rule as we go toward the middle of the month.  Rainfall for the month is just about even; however, we have a chance to add to our total as we approach the end of the week.

Take a look at the picture I have included.  A broad trough is moving across the Pacific Northwest.  Ahead of this slow moving trough we have enjoyed warm temperatures on nice southerly winds.

Two distinct waves will move across Wisconsin to provide chances for showers and storms.  The first disturbance will occur ahead of the cold front late Wednesday night into Thursday.  There will be an isolated chance for a storm on Thursday afternoon, with better chances for rain and storms late Thursday night into Friday morning.  We could see up to a half inch of rain by Friday morning.

It appears we will see some clearing for Friday afternoon before the front arrives.  The atmosphere may have some time to recover and produce some strong to severe storms with the second stronger wave aloft.  Storms that fire could produce gusty winds and small hail.  Right now it appears that the rain and storms would develop Friday evening through early Saturday morning.  If the system slows down there will be a chance for some lingering rain Saturday morning.

We will continue to watch it for you!
