MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- We've had plenty rain so far this July.
Over the holiday -- through Tuesday some spots picked up several inches of rain, estimates by our radar would suggest some neared 5" of rain in just two days. That rain helping to soften the crunchy lawns that have taken over as of late. After a dry June, we've made a huge turn around on rainfall.
And we've still got showers in progress early this afternoon. But calling for a decreasing trend in those showers from northwest to southeast as the afternoon wears on.
While clouds and light showers along with a stout lake breeze are keeping temperatures on the cool side, you can still feel the humidity in the air. That too, however, should wane heading into the weekend.
One thing to note before we get there is a warning to stay out of the Lake Michigan waters with the brisk northeast wind. This set up will help build waves 3-5' as well as churn up dangerous currents. The hazard runs until 8am Saturday.
An easing lake breeze with tons of sun and comfortable humidity is on the way for Saturday. Highs will reach the middle 70s. By Sunday winds back south bring highs into the lower 80s, although still keeping the humidity in check.
Get out and enjoy the great weekend weather! By Monday we're tracking heat and humidity with temps flirting with ninety degrees and a chance for scattered storms.
