Dysautonomia is a disorder few in the public have heard about, let alone understand.
So local patient and advocate Corey Sukalich is trying to get the word out about the first ever Racing Hearts 5K to raise money and awareness.
"They compare it to quality of life with COPD or congestive heart failure," Sukalich tells CBS 58 News. "The hope is to raise awareness that just because you look healthy doesn't necessarily mean you are."
There will be a church service starting at 8 a.m.
Then the 5k trail run and fmaily even with live music and "shot 4 pots" game hosted by UW Milwaukee Women's Basketball.
Proceeds with go to the Aurora Health Care Foundation which Sukalich says will be doing research with local patients.
Before the race, on September 6th the Texas Road House of West Bend is donating 10% of proceeds for those who bring in a special flyer that's available through facebook social media.
