Racine, Wis. (CBS 58) – The Racine Zoo will host Merry Zoomas on November 12 all day from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with last paid admission at 3:30 p.m.

Activities will include special animal encounters, cookie decorating, hot cocoa, fun crafts and more. There will also be holiday photo opportunities with Santa and Mrs. Claus for a small additional fee.

The zoo will also be collecting letters for Santa so he can take them back to the North Pole.

“This is the most wonderful time of the year!” Said Beth Heidorn, Executive Director of the Racine Zoo. “There will be plenty of holiday fun to enjoy and to really help get people into the holiday spirit. There just might be some magical surprises in store as well.”

The Racine Zoo will also be hosting a ‘Brunch with Santa’ during the same day, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m Tickets for this event can be purchased online and are $15 for adult members and $10 for child member, $20 for non-members and $15 for for children three to 12 years old. Two and younger are free (preregistration is required).

Attendees will enjoy a catered meal while dining with Santa Claus.

At the end of the day around 5:00 p.m. the annual Kiwanis Holiday Lighting event will happen. The Racine Zoo has been the location of the Kiwanis Holiday Lights Foundation for many years, and will be back once again.

The lighted waterfall consists of seven sections and when pieced together, becomes a magnificent 22-foot by 28-foot display. The movement of the waterfall is created with 3,000 feet of rope lights, totaling 33,000 individual LED bulbs. There will also be a steamboat, animals, trees, toys and of course Santa and his sleigh.
