Racine's Mayor Dickert announced on Monday he plans to resign this summer in order to accept a job working for the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Cities initiative.
"I'm very passionate about water," said Mayor Dickert.
There will likely be a special election this fall in Racine, according to Dickert.
Representative Cory Mason announced his candidacy for Racine Mayor after Dickert made his announcement.
