Racine County Sheriff's Office mourns loss of 41-year-old deputy
RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Racine County Sheriff's Office is mourning the loss of Deputy Joshua LaForge, who they say passed away suddenly at the age of 41.
In a press release Wednesday, July 5, the sheriff's office described LaForge as a "dedicated law enforcement officer" who served for more than 18 years.
Racine police say LaForge joined their department in May of 2005 and left in January 2023 to continue his law enforcement career with the sheriff's office. They say he served as a traffic investigator, general investigator and sergeant. He was also a member of their Motor Unit, the Crisis Intervention Team and Recruitment Team.
LaForge leaves behind a wife of over 15 years and three children, ages 12 and under.
