Racine County sheriff receives COVID-19 vaccine
RACINE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Racine County Sheriff Christopher Schmaling took another proactive step in the fight against COVID-19.
On Sunday, Jan. 17, Sheriff Schmaling received his first shot of the COVID-19 vaccination at Ascension Healthcare.
“As the head of the largest law enforcement agency in Racine County, I am leading the way to show my trust in the vaccination. I encourage all my staff and other area law enforcement officers to get vaccinated as they are able to. As more vaccinations become available, I am hopeful others will receive it as well. I believe this is a crucial step in getting our nation and economy back on track," Schmaling said.
This week, Racine County law enforcement will have the opportunity to get the vaccine.
"Thank you to Ascension Healthcare and the Central Racine County Health Department for their work and dedication in making these vaccinations available as determined by the State," said Schmaling.
