Racine County Deputy honored for saving man trapped in burning home

RACINE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Racine County Deputy is being honored for saving a man inside a burning home.
Deputy Eric Schneider found the man unconscious on the basement floor.
The house had gone up in flames last month in Union Grove.
On Thursday, Deputy Schneider was given a lifesaving award for his bravery.
"I truly am thankful for it. Sheriff and I were talking about it earlier. You don't know what's going to happen or what to expect, you just go with what feels right and try to do the best you can," said Deputy Eric Schneider.
The man who Deputy Schneider saved was taken to a local hospital and made a full recovery.
