Racine Aldi store hosting official grand reopening and ribbon-cutting ceremony

Grocery store shoppers in Racine will soon see the benefits of a massive makeover and expansion effort by Aldi stores.

The store on Durand Avenue will host a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday morning starting at 8:25 a.m.

There will also be a Golden Ticket giveaway, eco-friendly bag distribution, product sampling, and the Produce for a Year sweepstakes.

It's one of 1,200 Aldi stores around the country including 23 in this area that is improving its produce, dairy, bakery, and other fresh items.

The stores also feature open ceilings, more natural light, and environmentally-friendly building areas.
