Puppy thrown from moving vehicle in Madison has leg amputated

MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Dane County Humane Society is caring for a puppy that was injured after being thrown out a window of a moving vehicle.

According to the humane society, the 2-month-old puppy -- now named Kringle -- was found by a good Samaritan after she witnessed him being thrown out of the car. He was rushed to UW Veterinary Care for treatment.

The humane society said Kringle was in a lot of pain when he arrived, so veterinarians gave him pain medication to make him more comfortable before being transferred to DCHS for more care.

Animal experts discovered Kringle had a fractured front right leg and with a break so severe it needed to be amputated in order for him to live a happy and healthy life.
