Neu-Life set to expand services for Milwaukee’s young people
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A fundraiser benefiting Officer Peter Jerving, who was killed in the line of duty in Milwaukee just two weeks ago, is taking place at 3rd Street Market Hall Monday night, Feb. 20. It starts at 4:30 and runs until 7 p.m.
Tickets to get in are $100 and it will include unlimited food and drinks for the night. The vendors at the market have come together to provide the food and drinks. There will also be raffles and T-shirts for sale. All of the proceeds will go to the Milwaukee Fallen Officer Fund, which will help the Jerving family.
"That's where Milwaukee shines. In times like this, that's when the community comes together," said 3rd Street Market Hall co-owner Omar Shaikh.
The public is encouraged to attend the event. Shaikh wants it to be a healing event for the community.
Mayor Cavalier Johnson is expected to attend, as well as police officers from District 4 and beyond.
