HALES CORNERS, Wis. (CBS 58) – The third annual China Lights display in Hales Corners begins on September 21.
On Monday, organizers gave a sneak peek of what people can expect at this year’s event. This year’s theme is Panda-Mania. The annual display celebrates the art and skill that goes into making traditional Chinese lanterns.
One of the highlights is a three-story panda made out of ping pong balls.
Around 41 light displays will be spread out among nine acres of the Boerner Botanical Gardens.
In addition to the light displays, there will be nightly performances.
“It’s a bridge for culture exchange and it’s a way for people to experience Chinese culture without sitting in a classroom,” Events manager Huiyuan Liu said.
China Lights runs from September 21-October 21. More information on the event can be found on the China Lights website.
