Premier Vision promotes food drive

Local vision practitioner Premier Vision is taking part in a food drive to benefit the Ozaukee County Family Sharing food pantry.

Premier Vision, which has locations in Fox Point, Mequon and Fredonia is asking customers to stop by with non-perishable food items all this month and next in order to receive a discount. Premier Vision is offering 20% off a pair of glasses for dropping off a food item through March 31st. They ask customers to ask an optician for details.

The Family Sharing Food Pantry assists those in need in Ozaukee County. Last year the pantry distributed more than 500,000 pounds of food at no charge to residents. In addition the pantry handed out 315 new winter jackets to children and provided 204 students with school supplies.

The following list of items are always needed at the pantry:

Sugar Free Jellies/Jams (Grape/Strawberry)
Low Sodium items
Healthy Crackers
Canned Beef Stew
Canned Tuna
Baked Beans
Ketchup/Mayonnaise/Mustard
Coffee (Instant-Decaf or Regular)
Hot Chocolate
Canned Fruit
Canned Vegetables
Pancake Mix/Syrup
Sugar/Flour
Cooking Oil
Cereal (Cold) & Oatmeal
Children's Diapers (especially larger sizes)
Shampoo
Shaving Cream & Razors
Toothpaste & Toothbrushes
Deodorant
Toilet Tissue
Dish Soap
White Vinegar
