Precipitation finally returns for the first time in almost three weeks
The pattern switches to a more active trend this work week with chances of rain, and even a mix during the week. The first system will move in by later today along an energetic jet and plenty of energy around a low pressure system. This will bring a wave or rain, perhaps thunder, by this evening into early tomorrow.
Rainfall totals could range from 0.50” to as much as 1.00” in some of the heavier downpours. All of the winter weather will stay well to the north with a warm stream of air along the LLJ. The temps will actually rise overnight into the 50s. By tomorrow afternoon, the cold air will start to move in and the overnight lows will drop into the 30s and 40s.
This will be the first measurable rainfall/snowfall in almost three weeks for the viewing area. Fire dangers are still around today, and will be until the rain moves.
