Pothole repair training begins for 25 workers in city jobs program

MILWAUKEE -- On-the-job training begins this week for workers who will fill potholes in the city as part of the Transitional Jobs Program.

Mayor Tom Barrett will welcome about 25 workers Monday before they begin training side-by-side with Department of Public Works crews.

In addition to filling potholes through the Transitional Jobs Program, workers will build their resume.

One goal of the program is to help people who've had trouble entering the workforce.
