Possible Drowning of Milwaukee Man

Early Saturday morning police were notified of a possible drowning at Lake Joy Campground in Belmont Township in Lafayette County. 

Lafayette County Sheriff's Deputies and Detectives, Belmont Fire Department, Belmont EMS personnel, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and the Grant County Sheriff's Office Dive Team all responded. Fire and EMS personnel began searching for the missing swimmer using boats that were on scene when they arrived. Lafayette County Detectives responded with a boat and dragging equipment.

At 10:57 AM the body of Sidney L. Yera Jr., age 18, of Milwaukee was located in the swimming area of the lake where he was last seen by family and friends.

The Lafayette County Coroner's Office and the Lafayette County Sheriff's Office are continuing the investigation and an autopsy with be conducted.

Police say at this time there does not appear to be any criminal activity involved.
