Port Washington Police Investigating Graffiti at Memorial Pavilion

Port Washington Police are investigating graffiti vandalism at the memorial pavilion located in Coal Dock Park.

According to Port Washington Police, the incident happened on Sunday evening.

The images include that of a swastika and profanity. 

Port Washington Police Department was contacted by an individual who was walking a dog and while doing so, observed vandalism in the form of graffiti to the memorial pavilion located in Coal Dock Park. 

The caller reported first taking photos of the graffiti and posting them to social media while in the park in hopes that someone might have further information regarding the damage. 

Upon returning home, the caller contacted the police department.

The responding officer observed graffiti applied to the interior upper deck area of the memorial pavilion in the form of black spray painted images. 

Police believe the damages were done by local vandal(s). 

Officers continue to investigate potential leads.
