Police: Taxi driver robbed at gunpoint by passenger in Sheboygan

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Sheboygan police are investigating an armed robbery of a taxi driver that happened on Eisner Avenue, near Mac Arthur Avenue Monday night, Feb. 21. 

Police said around 8:50 p.m., the taxi driver reported while dropping off a male and female passenger, the male passenger displayed a handgun and demanded money. 

The taxi driver turned over money and both passengers fled the scene. 

Police responded to the scene and established a location of the suspects. After no answer at the residence, a search warrant was executed and both suspects, a 20-year-old Milwaukee man and 21-year-old woman from Sheboygan, were located inside. 

Charges are being referred to the district attorney's office.
