Police report: WI Woman Dug Up Flowers from Church Flower Beds

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) -- Wausau police arrested a 29-year-old woman on a warrant after she's accused of digging up flowers from flower beds at St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Lieutenant Dwayne Dachel tells NewsChannel 7, the church is undecided if it will press charges.

According to the Wausau Police Department incident report, an officer was flagged down by a passerby around 9 p.m. Saturday for the report of a woman stealing flowers. The report states the woman dug holes in the flower bed, removed several tulips, trimmed off the leaves, and took them home and put them in a vase in her residence.

As a result, the woman was arrested and jailed on a valid Kronenwetter Police Department warrant.

The woman's name has not yet been released.
